[origin: WO03100132A1] The invention relates to a coated wire comprising: - a steel core; - a zinc alloy layer, said zinc alloy layer comprises at least 2 wt % of an element selected from the group consisting of Fe, Al, Ni, Mn and Sn; - a polyolefin based polymer coating. The zinc alloy layer comprises pores allowing the penetration of the polyolefin based polymer coating. The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing a coated wire.
