[origin: WO2004018812A1] The present invention related to a locking device (5) for pivot or bottom hung windows. The device comprises a bushing (7) for mounting in a window frame. An axially movable cylindrical locking member (8) is received in the bushing. In an extended active position the locking member (8) obstructs the sash (1). The locking member (8 ) can be retained in retracted inactive position and is resiliently biased towards the extended position. The locking member (8) is provided with an axially opening recess (15) for receiving a latch (6) extending from the sash (1) of the window.
