[origin: EP1538338A1] The radial pump (1) has a rotatably mounted shaft driven impeller (4) with a cover ring (9) mounted on the suction side of the impeller and movable between two end positions. The cover ring is automatically adjustable depending upon the pressure difference between the pressure and suction side (7,6) of the impeller. The cover ring in at least one defined position, preferably at least in the first end position, is positioned by a positioning element (13) formed preferably by a locking device.
