[origin: FR2843224A1] The display unit (10) has an opaque front panel (1) with at least one transparent zone (2), and is back-lit by an angled plane mirror (4) behind it, positioned to reflect external incident light onto it. The incident light comes from a point above the display unit and can be made to pass through a colored filter (6) before or after the mirror, located in a supporting block (3) behind the front panel, the upper portion of which acts as a light guide (5). The front panel can have a support (21) for a displayed article (20) on its front surface, or on its upper surface if made sufficiently thick.
