Abstract (en)
A method for splitting logs and section of tree trunk has a wedge (5) driven into the side of the log by a hydraulic ram (2) placed between the back of the wedge and a clamping chain (1). The upper end of the hydraulic cylinder has a shaped head (7) with a groove to hold the chain. The chain is positioned around the log and ram and is secured by hooked ends (3). As the wedge is driven into the log so the log splits and spreads against the chain thereby increasing the drive force on the wedge. The back of the wedge is secured to the base plate of the ram by removable clamps.

Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Spalten von Holzstücken vorgeschlagen, insbesondere von Baumstammabschnitten, mit einem Spaltkeil 5 und einem Hubelement 2, wobei der Spaltkeil 5 mit dem Hubelement 2 zusammenwirkend ausgestaltet ist. Die Vorrichtung umfasst ein flexibles zugstabiles Befestigungselement 1, welches um das zu spaltende Holzstück 4 und das Hubelement 2 geführt ist. Der Spaltkeil 5 ist zwischen dem Hubelement 2 und dem zu spaltenden Holzstück 4 angeordnet. <IMAGE>
