Abstract (en)
The coating fluid is fed by a metering head(8) into at least one storage reservoir(5) based on a sponge-like, moisture holding material. Fluid is then delivered from the reservoir via an intermediate roll(4) onto one or more application rolls(3) which apply the coating onto a passing substrate. Coating material may be applied to the substrate(2) from two application rolls(3), one on each side of the substrate. Each application roll is fed with fluid from its own storage reservoir(5) via an intermediate roll(4). Each storage reservoir is supplied continuously or intermittently from its own metering unit(8) which has nozzles, in particular atomizing nozzles. Application rolls have a smooth outer surface. Substrate is a continuous strip material. Coating material is a silicone oil emulsion containing wax, varnish and/or perfume. A control unit determines application roll speeds and/or operating cycles of the metering heads and/or supply(9a,9b) of coating material to the metering heads. Independent claims are included for: a) the process equipment which includes a metering head(8) feeding a storage reservoir(5) of a fluid holding material linked to an application roll(3) via an intermediate roll(4); b) a coated flat substrate produced by the process.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Beschichten eines flächenförmigen Substrats, insbesondere von Papier, Haftpapier, Karton, Textilien oder Folien, mit einem Beschichtungsmittel, insbesondere mit einer Siliconölemulsion, bei dem das Beschichtungsmittel mittels wenigstens einer Auftragseinrichtung auf das Substrat aufgetragen wird. Um eine besonders gleichmäßige Auftragung des Beschichtungsmittels auf das Substrat zu erreichen, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, das Beschichtungsmittel mittels einer Dosiereinrichtung auf wenigstens eine Speichereinrichtung aus schwammartigem, feuchtigkeitsspeicherndem Material aufzugeben, welches von dort aus ggf. über eine Zwischeneinrichtung auf die wenigstens eine Auftragseinrichtung übertragen wird. Des weiteren betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung eine zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens geeignete Vorrichtung zum Beschichten eines flächenförmigen Substrats sowie durch das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren erhältliches beschichtetes Substrat, insbesondere Papier. <IMAGE>
