[origin: EP1541933A2] A multi-storey building has a central effluent air duct to a roof-mounted ventilator. Air is extracted on each floor through a vent housing with an inlet to a filter. The housing further has a shut-off valve and an outlet with a back-flow prevention valve to the main duct. Also claimed is a commensurate ventilation system.
