[origin: WO2004027098A1] A rapid cooling method for metal parts, using a pressurized cooling gas, characterized in that the cooling gas comprises one (or several) principal gas(es) absorbing infra-red radiation, selected in such a way as to improve thermal transfer to the part by combining radiative and convective transfer pheonomena in order to optimize the convective transfer coefficient.
