Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1544331A1] Polyester fibres (I) with a free carboxyl group content of not more than 3 meq/kg, stabilised with an epoxide composition (II) containing epoxidised fatty acid ester(s) with an epoxide content of at least 1.5 wt.% based on (II). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for the production of (I) by mixing polyester granules with (II), extruding the mixture through a spinneret and drawing off the fibres; and (2) a method for the production of (I) by adding (II) before or during the polycondensation process and then extruding and processing the mixture as above.
