The window lock has a front plate (1) with a driving rod or strap (3) behind it. The end of the swiveling L-shaped bolt (4) passes through apertures (8,9) in the front plate and strap to engage a catch in the fixed frame. Longitudinal movement of the drive strap rotates a gear sector (5) with teeth engaging holes in the strap. It pivots on a pin (7) fastened in the lock box (2) and has a radially projecting lever (12) engaging the side (14) of a cutout (13) in the end of bolt. The bolt swings on a pivot pin (6) near the end with the cutout and the other end is hooked.

Bei einem Treibstangenschloss wird ein als Schwenkriegel ausgebildeter Riegel (4) von einem mit einer Treibstange (3) gekoppelten Drehhebel (5) angetrieben. Der Riegel (4) weist eine U-förmige Ausnehmung (13) auf, in die ein Stellarm (12) des Drehhebels (5) eindringt. In Schließstellung des Treibstangenschlosses weist eine von dem Riegel (4) in den Drehhebel (5) eingeleitete Kraft auf eine Lagerachse (7) des Drehhebels (5). Der Drehhebel (5) lässt sich hierbei nicht drehen und blockiert damit ein Zurückdrücken des Riegels (4).
