[origin: EP1544391A2] The window lock has a front plate (1) with a driving rod or strap (3) behind it. The end of the swiveling L-shaped bolt (4) passes through apertures (8,9) in the front plate and strap to engage a catch in the fixed frame. Longitudinal movement of the drive strap rotates a gear sector (5) with teeth engaging holes in the strap. It pivots on a pin (7) fastened in the lock box (2) and has a radially projecting lever (12) engaging the side (14) of a cutout (13) in the end of bolt. The bolt swings on a pivot pin (6) near the end with the cutout and the other end is hooked.
