[origin: EP1544408A1] According to the invention, a system for carrying away flue gases from a fire in a tunnel (1) comprises a duct (2) provided with a plurality of hinged doors or gates (3), which each are kept closed against a spring force by means of a lock with thermostatic release. <??>The hot flue gases will hereby release locks and open the dampers (3) at the fire zone concerned and convey the flue gases via the dampers into the duct (1), from where they are evacuated from the tunnel by means of fans. <IMAGE>
