Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1544879A1] A rotating switch contact piece (RSCP) (2c) rotates in a rotational drive (3,6-9) by mechanical torsion spring force applied for opening and closing contacts in a common mechanical torsion spring mechanism (3). Mechanical rotational energy (RE) in the RSCP is recovered on opening/closing contacts. RE loss in the RSCP is recharged during opening/closing contacts by a torsion tension device (9). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) A current switch for carrying out the method of the present invention; (B) and for a high-/medium-voltage electrical switching unit.
