[origin: WO2004028807A1] The invention relates to a clamping device for clamping a flexible covering (2, 3) of a cylinder (1) of a printing press, said cylinder having an axial channel (6) on a lateral surface. The clamping device comprises: d) a clamping body (10; 20; 25) that, together with a first opposing surface, forms a clamping gap inside the channel (6), whereby this clamping gap is provided for accommodating at least one end of the covering (2, 3) that projects through an opening (7) of the channel (6); e) two channel walls, which face the first opposing surface (4) and of which one forms a second opposing surface (5) and the other forms a third opposing surface (9) against all of which the clamping body (10; 20; 25) rests while in contact; f) a spring (10; 20; 14; 15) forms the clamping body (10; 20; 25) and at least one of the opposing surfaces (4, 5, 9), and an elasticity force of the spring (10; 20; 14; 15) tightens the clamping body (10; 20; 25) and the first opposing surface (4) against one another in order to clamp the at least one end of the covering (2, 3) when the covering (2, 3) is inserted.
