Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004016888A1] A security system and lock having particular application to venues with many gaming machines. The system allows the locks on any or all of the gaming machines to be electronically unlocked from a central controller. The individual locks may also have an electronic reader responsive to electronic/magnetic keys so that individual machines can be unlocked and the identity of the keyholder recorded. The lock structure is such that the solenoid 10 may be relatively small and need only be energised briefly in order to unlock the lock. Furthermore, the lock remains unlocked until the door has been opened and re-closed.
