[origin: WO2004033918A1] The invention concerns a vertical centrifugal pump comprising a support bearing, arranged above the pump and consisting of an axial bearing (22) and a radial bearing (23). A housing (24) encasing the support bearing (22, 23) is directly connected to the case (25) of the centrifugal pump delivery zone. Lubrication and an optionally required cooling are performed by the pumping medium, which is sent to the support bearing (22, 23) through a connection leading to the pump compression zone (28), wherefrom it is evacuated into the pump suction zone (29). The shaft seals (31) are mounted on the surface of the support bearing (22, 23) opposite the centrifugal pump delivery zone.
