[origin: WO2004030344A1] When an image original in the RGB system is to be printed by an electrographic printer working with the CMYK colour system, it can arise that the colour room comprised in the original can not be completely reproduced by means of the printer. A colour matching of the colour room of the image original to that of the printer can be carried out by means of a colour management system, for example. The colour transfer properties of the printer are retained in a profile for the colour reproduction with respect to the image original. Said profile is thus generated in a manner specific to the image original for printing and not, as before, independently of the image for printing.
