Abstract (en)
The method for the processing of a flat product (1) comprising a number of individual flat pieces, especially letters, entails conveying the pieces in a row and with one edge lying against a conveyor belt. The individual pieces lie one upon the other in an overlapping fashion and the whole product by a flat side is then guided against a braking device (6), whereby an individual piece lying against the braking device is braked in relation to the transporting speed of the conveyor belt. The product is then gripped on the other flat side by especially a side belt (12). An independent claim is included for a device for the processing of a flat product, especially letters.

Verfahren zur Bearbeitung von Flachgut 1, das eine Vielzahl von flachen Einzelstücken, insbesondere von Briefen, umfasst, wobei die Einzelstücke in einer Reihe und mit einer Kante gegen ein Transportband 2 anliegend befördert werden, wobei die Einzelstücke zumindest teilweise schindelartig überlappend aneinanderliegen und wobei die überlappenden Einzelstücke durch folgende Verfahrensschritte weiter getrennt werden: Das vom Transportband 2 beförderte Flachgut 1 wird mit einer Flachseite gegen eine Bremsvorrichtung 6 geführt wird, wobei ein an der Bremsvorrichtung 6 anliegendes Einzelstück im Verhältnis zur Fördergeschwindigkeit des Transportbandes 1 abgebremst wird; Das Flachgut 1 wird an der anderen Flachseite von einer Antriebsvorrichtung, insbesondere von einem Seitenband 12, ergriffen, wobei ein ergriffenes Einzelstück zum Einzelabzug 4 hin beschleunigt wird. <IMAGE>
