[origin: EP1547950A1] The stabilizing and positioning method involves localizing the position of the edge (20) of a product (16) in or counter to a conveying direction (F) so that the edge passes only into a receiving section (27) and not into an intermediate region (29) between two receiving sections. The edge of the product is delimited by delimiting components (24,26). The position of the edge of the product is localized, by moving a delimiting component into the conveying stream. The receiving section is formed between the delimiting components.
