Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1548393A1] A shell case (2), containing an explosive charge (3) initiated by a priming fuse (4), has a vent (6) that can be opened to allow the charge to connect with the outside air. The vent, which has holes blocked by plugs (8), leads to a chamber (7) between the fuse and charge and is carried by a coupling ring (5) linking the fuse to the shell. The chamber is closed on the charge side by a base in the form of a circular plate with grooves to reduce its thickness, which is projected onto the charge when the fuse is initiated.
