[origin: WO2004035119A1] Disclosed is a needle for medical applications, which is used for pricking a tissue, particularly for inserting a dialysis membrane into a human tissue or animal tissue. Said needle comprises a distal end portion (1) that is made of solid material and is provided with at least two areas (7, 8; 20; 30; 35) which intersect a longitudinal axis of the needle and each other in such a way that at least one line (12; 21, 22; 32; 34) and/or point (9; 23; 31) of intersection is/are formed between the at least two areas. Said line or point of intersection is preferably arranged within the circumference of a cross section located inside a needle region (6) of the needle, which is adjacent to the distal end portion (1).
