Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004020756A1] The invention relates to a supporting structure for conservatories or the like, especially the frame profiles used for the same, that is the vertical members and the bars which carry the glass structure. The aim of the invention is to create a profiled system consisting of wood and metal, which meets the increased aesthetic, technical and functional demands, while significantly reducing the preservation requirements of the wood. According to the invention, the supporting profiles are bars consisting of metal, especially aluminium, the vertical members (2) carrying replaceable wooden inlays (2.2) which are mounted in a floating manner on the inner side and extensively cover the metal profiles (2.1), and all of the bars (3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6) carrying replaceable wooden panelling which is also mounted on the inner side and fully covers the metal profiles in the inner region. In this way, the outstanding mechanical characteristic values of metal, namely aluminium, are advantageously paired with a natural construction material which creates a friendly and cosy atmosphere inside.
