Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004033833A1] Disclosed is an emergency system for opening motor vehicle doors, especially doors that remain mechanically jammed following an accident. Said emergency system comprises a pneumatic energy accumulator/pneumatic energy accumulators (1) which is/are used as (an) executing element(s) for opening the door(s). Said energy accumulator (1) is fed by a pyrotechnic shell (2) or pyrotechnic shells (2, 3) that is/are controlled by means of an electronic detonation control system (8). The signal for the first detonation of the pyrotechnic shell (2) is supplied to the system (8) by a set of sensors (5, 6, 7) while the signal for the second detonation of the pyrotechnic shell (3) is supplied by a pressure transducer (9). The energy accumulator (1) is reset by means of an electrovalve (10).
