[origin: US2004060189A1] A wear measurement device permits reliable and accurate measurements of wear and wear trends for fastening devices used in maritime applications, and on-shore facilities, such as chains, shackles, padeyes, anchor legs, and the like. The device utilizes a pair of arms slidable on a tube and positionable to contact out-of-plane surfaces and provide a direct reading of the distance between the surfaces from a scale containing dimensional indicia on the exposed surface of the supporting tube.
