The secondary cooling system, at a continuous casting machine, is matched to the actual casting operation e.g. the type of steel, casting problems, etc. The segments of the secondary cooling each have dedicated cooling circuits, controlled according to individual nominal values and cooling models which have the casting parameters. A subordinate control circuit computes the required water volumes together with the overall control system.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur diversifizierten Regelung der Sekundärkühlung einer Stranggießanlage, bei der die Sekundärkühlung an die aktuelle Gießaufgabe bzgl. Stahlsorte, Schwierigkeiten während des Gießprozesses etc. angepaßt wird. Zur Verbesserung der Sekundärkühlung besitzen die Segmente der Sekundärkühlung jeweils gesonderte Kühlkreisläufe, die mit einer individuellen aufgabenbezogenen Sollwertvorgabe geregelt werden.
