[origin: EP1550749A2] The yarn twister, with a rotating flyer (2) which takes at least one yarn (5) from a supply bobbin (15), has a mechanism to regulate the tension of the yarn being taken off. It has a yarn store disk (24) to hold a yarn length using the rotating flyer to set the yarn tension, which is coupled to a control (1) to set the rotary resistance of the flyer in a fluid or magnetic brake action. The control can also be a motor, which drives or brakes the flyer.
