[origin: WO2004035957A1] The surfacing element comprises an essentially flat surface for surface and spot loads and has an essentially rectangular form. The surfacing element is embodied as a hollow profile, with at least one cavity (3, 3'), with an essentially rectangular cross-section. The upper and base surfaces (1, 2) comprises inwardly facing reinforcement ribs (4,5). The surfacing element is advantageously made from fibre-reinforced plastic and comprises additional reinforcements in the highly loaded regions thereof or fibres which can accept a greater load than in the other regions of the profile. The surfacing element thus has the advantage of a particularly good stability and load-carrying capacity with low weight and a long service life, due to high corrosion and weathering resistance.
