Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004036008A1] The invention relates to an air duct in the front part of a motor vehicle, comprising recesses in a forewall which defines the front part of the motor vehicle, whereby cooling air flows through said recesses into the engine area. Air guiding channels (6, 10, 11, 18) supply the cooling air to the engine area in a direction which is substantially counter to the direction of travel and are formed by defining walls (7,19) extending in an approximately parallel manner in relation to the direction of the air flow. The aim of the invention is to provide an air duct in the front part of a motor vehicle which is easy to mount and which exhibits very little flow loss. According to the invention, the defining walls (7,19) are integrated into a structural part (1) which extends inside the engine area in an approximately perpendicular manner with respect to the direction of the air flow.
