[origin: WO2004036032A1] The invention concerns a volume flow rate regulating valve (1) comprising a control piston, set in a valve housing (10) and capable of shifting from a first terminal position (5) to a second terminal position (6) by countering a return spring force. The control piston (2) is designed in the form of a differential piston which is reversed from outside and has a steerable shape (8) integrated in the lateral casing surface (7). Said steerable shape is designed to provide different slopes of the valve characteristic curve based on the position of the control piston (2).
