[origin: WO2004038356A1] The invention relates to a test stand for motor vehicles, said test stand comprising a rolling device (1) which has a bearing surface (3) and is used to roll the wheels (2). Said bearing surface (3) is rotatably driven and can preferably be blocked and/or braked and/or released. Said test stand is designed and developed, in terms of simple track measurements or shock absorber tests, such that the rolling device (1) is mounted in such a way that it can be at least slightly displaced transversally or perpendicularly to the direction of travel (6), and in order to determine the force generated by the motor vehicle during driving and/or braking movements of the motor vehicle, the force acting between the rolling device (1) and a pre-determinable fixed point (10), and/or the displacement path created between the rolling device (1) and a pre-determinable fixed point (10) during driving and/or braking movements of the motor vehicle, can be measured.
