[origin: WO2004036609A1] The invention concerns a switch (40) designed to be mounted on an electrical circuit plate (16) comprising contacts (8, 10) to be electrically connected upon switching. It includes a switching element, for example a dome (4), associated with an actuator (2), for establishing the electrical connection between said contacts when it is deflected under a pressure transmitted by the actuator. The device further comprises a base plate (46) provided with retaining means (50a) for retaining the switching element (14) before the device is mounted on the plate (16), the switching element being released from said retaining means when the device is mounted on the plate. The switching element (4) may be supported only by the plate (16) when the device is mounted thereon, the base plate (46) providing then only a guiding function for the switching element. The guiding element (4) may be designed to be naturally released from the retaining means (50a) under the effect of a thrust exerted on said dome by the plate (16) when the device is mounted thereon.
