Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004036802A1] An implementation of a technology, described herein, for facilitating authentication of person identification documents. One implementation, described herein, is a simple, inexpensive, and cryptographically secure personal ID architecture. With this implementation, one may create and efficiently authenticate secure photographic personal identification documents (ID) that thwarts tampering and counterfeiting attempts. This ID employs a compact, cryptographically signed bar-code that is readable by an ordinary scanner. This abstract itself is not intended to limit the scope of this patent. The scope of the present invention is pointed out in the appending claims.
