[origin: WO03096682A1] A method and system (100) for controlling a production studio for producing a television show. The method comprising sending control commands to a plurality of video production devices (104, 106, 110, 108) from a processing unit (102); associating one or more icons representing video production device control buttons with one or more control commands; creating, via a hierarchical user interface, a transition macro by placing one or more of the icons on a time sheet; and executing, via the hierarchical user interface, the transition macro to control the plurality of video production devices (104, 106, 110, 108) during the television show.
