[origin: EP1553144A1] Colored interference pigments having metallic luster comprising, on the surface of a thin platelet-like metal substrate a layer of an anti-corrosive treatment in a non-aqueous system, and, thereon (1) an intermediate binder layer comprising hydrated tin oxide (first layer); and, thereon, (2) a hydrated iron oxide layer (second layer), exhibiting a reddish color and improved adhesion and denseness of the hydrated iron oxide layer, a process for producing same and their use. <IMAGE>
