Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004032823A2] The invention relates to a treatment and rehydration composition which is used to limit the side effects which occur during gastro-enteritis, such as feelings of malaise and fatigue, in adults and, in particular, among the elderly. The inventive composition comprises an intestinal antiseptic, such as nifuroxazide, or an agent used to alter the intestinal transit, such as loperamide or even clays, glucose and sucrose. Said composition is characterised in that the ratio of glucose to sucrose is such that the osmolality is between 260 and 290 mosm and efficiency and acceptability are combined.
