Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004037503A1] Disclosed is a method for producing perforated bricks comprising hole seals, according to which continuously perforated bricks, especially vertically perforated bricks, are first produced and are then provided with hole seals made of a hardened sealing material in a subsequent step. Said method is further developed in such a way that the mostly vertically aligned holes of the bricks are first partly filled with a pourable filler, a layer of hardening sealing material is applied on top of the filler, and the filler is subsequently removed from the holes, resulting in cast stones, particularly vertically perforated bricks, having a conventional appearance. Sand is particularly appropriate as a filler while mortar is particularly suitable as a sealing material. The cast stone which is produced according to the inventive method and is provided with interior hole seals can be conventionally used in any position during construction as no one-sided cover has to be taken into account. Moreover, said interior hole seals are not very prone to damage during handling. Preferably, the hole seals are arranged at variable heights so as to obtain a staggered sealing plane offering advantages regarding soundproofing and thermal insulation as opposed to an intermediate covering layer that is disposed on a single level.
