Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004038185A1] The invention relates to a cam follower (1) for a valve gear in an internal combustion engine, comprising two lateral walls (2, 3), connected to each other by means of a crossbar (4). Said crossbar (4) is mounted on a head (10) of a support element (11) by means of a concave moulding (9) at the end (8) of the underside (5) thereof. A clip (12) is applied to the end (8), by means of which the cam follower (1) is fixed on the head (10) such as to move in the pivoting direction thereof. A central section (13) of the clip (12), made from a flat material, is supported on the underside (5) of the crossbar at the end (8) and has a recess (14) beneath the moulding (9), behind the edge (15) of which the head (10) of the support element (11) is fixed. Each lateral wall (2, 3) is enclosed around the outer surfaces (18, 19) thereof by a tang-like projection (16, 17), extending laterally from the central section (13) and clipped to an upper surface (22, 23) or a support surface (24) essentially parallel to the upper surface at the end (20, 21) thereof, such that the end (20, 21) of the projection (16, 17) grips over at least more than a half of a width of the upper side (22, 23) or support surface (24).
