[origin: WO2004018907A1] A slip-ring seal arrangement comprises at least one pair of slip-rings (4, 5), with the opposing sealing surfaces (9, 10) thereof held in sealing contact with each other, of which one is fixed and the other provided to rotate in common with a rotating component (2). The both slip-rings are made from a SiC material, whereby at least one of the slip-rings has an added graphite component. The graphite component is in particulate form in a proportion of 1.0 to 4.0 vol. % in an SiC matrix material comprising SiC crystals with a particle size of 5 to 1500 µm. The particle size of the graphite particles is 20 to 200 µm.
