[origin: WO2004025168A1] The invention relates to a pocket light comprising an LED (3) as an illuminant, and an on-off switch (2) for actuating the LED (3). In order to provide said pocket light with an especially flat housing and to improve the use of the energy source (4), the output voltage of said energy source being lower than the operating voltage of the LED (3), an electronic device (4) is provided, preferably a charge pump, which increases the output voltage of the energy source (4) to the operating voltage of the LED (3).
