The coating head (2), which includes the curtain nozzle (4), can be moved. It is rotated or displaced linearly. This causes the flowing curtain (5) to be intercepted (8'). In the new design the nozzle height (H c) is less than the interceptor rim height (H w) above the web. Seen in the running direction (L) of the surface (7), the curtain coating interceptor (8') is located immediately after the coating head. The coating head and curtain nozzle (4) can be rotated counter-clockwise, through preferably 45[deg]. An additional coating unit (10, 10'') is provided. The coating units are both fixed and moveable, and have both plane and sloping base surfaces (10a, 10a''). The interceptor has high side walls (8a) and is fixed to the curtain coating unit. Further variants of the basic arrangement are described.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (1) zum ein- oder beidseitigen Auftragen von flüssigem bis pastösem Auftragsmedium, auf eine laufende Oberfläche (7), die bei direktem Auftrag die Oberfläche einer Materialbahn, insbesondere aus Papier- oder Karton und bei indirektem Auftrag die Oberfläche eines Übertragselementes ist, welches das Auftragsmedium dann an die Materialbahn abgibt. In einem in einem bestimmten Abstand (H C ) ist zur laufenden Oberfläche (7) ein Vorhang-Auftragskopf (2), enthaltend eine Auftragsdüse (4) angeordnet, welche das Auftragsmedium als sich im Wesentlichen schwerkraftbedingt bewegenden, frei fallenden Vorhang (5) in einer Betriebsposition (I) abgibt. Außerdem ist ein wannenartiger Vorhangauffänger (8) vorhanden, der in einem Abstand (H W ) seiner Oberkante zur laufenden Oberfläche (7) angeordnet ist und der in der Start- und/oder Stopp-Phase des Vorhangauftrages sowie bei Betriebsunterbrechungen den Vorhang (5) in einer Auffangposition (II) auffängt. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass der Auftragskopf (2) mit Vorhangdüse (4) derart drehbar und/oder linear verschiebbar ist, dass der Vorhangauffänger (8') den im gedrehten und/oder verschobenen Zustand der Vorhangdüse (4) abgegebenen Vorhang (5) aufnimmt, wobei der Abstand (H C ) geringer als der Abstand (H W ) ist.
