[origin: WO2004038203A1] A method for charging a piezoelectric actuator (2) on an injection valve is disclosed, whereby the charging time (T1, T2) is varied in order to improve the injection properties of the injection valve. The charging time is preferably fixed depending on the pressure of the fuel. An increase in charging time leads to a reduced dependence of the injected amount of fuel on the control time and the fuel pressure. The disclosed method leads to an injection behaviour for the injection valve (1) the injected amount of fuel during which is less dependent on pressure variations and control time variations.
