[origin: WO2004040706A1] The invention relates to a connector (1) for flexible flat strip cables (2), comprising a housing (3), inside which at least one slot (4) for inserting an end of a flexible flat strip cable, spring contacts (5) for connecting the at least one flexible flat strip cable (2) to contacts (6) or another flexible flat strip cable (7), and at least one strain relief device (8) are provided. Said strain relief device (8) encompasses a slide (9) which is inserted into the insertion slot (4) above the flexible flat strip cable (2). The flexible flat strip cable (2) is redirected into a recess (11) located on the bottom of the insertion slot (4) by means of a rib (10) that is disposed on the slide (9) until the slide (9) locks into the terminal position thereof on the housing (3).
