[origin: EP1559848A2] The flexible strip-form eaves cover element (100) has a flat base section (1) which through a bent edge (15) changes into a skirt-form eaves strip (2), which in the fitted state on the roof bridges a gap between the water crease of the respective guttering and the eaves board. The cover element is provided with at least one stiffening element (5.1) which fits on the eaves board via at least one fastening element (8) in the form of a nail or woodscrew. The stiffening element is formed from hard plastic or sheet metal strip and lies flat perpendicularly to the bent edge.
