Abstract (en)
[origin: DE10251490A1] The procedure for husking and degerminating cereals and suchlike, and especially maize of corn, entails degerminating the grains directly or after a surface dampening. The grains may be subjected to only dry degerminating. The husking and/or degerminating takes place in a treatment zone between the beater bars of a drum which is equipped with protrusions. The degerminated corn is aspirated and ground into grits or meal. An Independent claim is included for a device for the husking and degerminating of cereals including a rotor and a drum with protrusions.
