For the detection of forest fires, an airborne infra red detection system (1) passes infra red data with geo references to the center (2) for planning and coordinating the action. The center has a computer unit which can display the affected surface and compute firefighting plans. The center is in communication with airborne (3a) and ground (3b) firefighting units.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erkennung und Bekämpfung von Wald- und Flächenbränden. Die Erfassung von Brandgebieten erfolgt aus der Luft mittels georeferenzierter Infrarotdaten, die in eine Planungs- und Einsatzzentrale (2) übertragen werden. Mit einem Darstellungs- und Planungsrechner wird die Gesamtlage ermittelt, dargestellt und daraus abgeleitet Löscheinsätze aus der Luft und vom Boden berechnet und an die jeweiligen Einsatzeinheiten (3a,3b) übermittelt. <IMAGE>
