A method for manufacturing a turbulator, in particular for swirling a cooling medium in a blast furnace cooling system, comprising the steps of providing a flat sheet (10) having an upper surface (12) and an opposite lower surface (14), a downstream edge (16) and an opposite upstream edge (18), a first side edge (20) and an opposite second side edge (22); making at least one incision (24, 24', 24", 24''') in the sheet (10); transforming part of the sheet (26, 26', 26", 26''') at the incision (24, 24', 24", 24''') so as to form a vane (30, 30', 30", 30''') on the upper surface (12) of the sheet (10). According to an important aspect of the present invention, the method comprises the further step of transforming the sheet (10) into an essentially cylindrical body (36) by bringing the first side edge (20) in proximity to the second side edge (22). <IMAGE>
