[origin: WO2004083007A1] In order to absorb the impact whereby attenuating the same by means of an inventive device, both hinges of the front engine hood are mounted on a hinge support, which can be raised to a predetermined height with the front hood in a sensor-controlled manner in the event of a crash by means of a spring-loaded device (14) and of an assigned retaining device. In order to achieve a linear cant-free raising of the hinge support, the invention provides that a rectangular raising plate (2) is provided for the hinge support (300). This raising plate, in the normal state, forms the upper covering plate of a housing, and is actively connected on its narrow-side ends to a linearly raisable drive pressure spring (14, 15) that is accommodated inside the housing (1) while being linearly guided therein. In addition, at least one set of scissor-like parts having two limbs (3a 3d) that are coupled in a crosswise manner is provided which, via its one paired ends, are rotationally coupled at the bottom to the housing, are rotationally coupled to the raising plate (2) via its other paired ends, and are rotationally coupled in a linearly displaceable manner via at least one of the limb ends. In addition, a detent system (11-13) in conjunction with a sensor-actuated actuator (16) is provided in the form of a sensor-controlled retaining device in order to releasably hold down the set of scissor-like parts with the raising plate.
