[origin: WO2004042299A1] The aim of the invention is to monitor the temperature in a refrigerator. Said aim is achieved by a unit (10) that is formed by a temperature-sensitive element (13) and a thermal buffer liquid (12), said unit (10) being disposed in a spot of a refrigerator (1), which is to be monitored, while the temperature detected by the temperature-sensitive element (13) is verified by observing a temperature-related variable characteristic of the element (13), especially the color of a surface area (14) of said element.
