[origin: EP1564330A1] The invention relates to a drive of a cylinder or equivalent (10) in a paper or board machine, in which the main gear wheel (21) driving the cylinder shaft (22) and centrally mounted in relation thereto is rotably mounted with bearings to the casing body (R) and connected to the shaft via a gear coupling. The main gear wheel (21) with bearings (13a, 13b) is mounted to the bearing cap (24) of the casing body, allowing it to be replaced together with the gear coupling with the main gear wheel fixedly mounted on the shaft. <IMAGE>
