[origin: EP1564360A1] Device for opening and closing a tailgate (1) or hood of a vehicle comprises a guiding strip pivoting about a pivoting axle (7) running parallel to the tailgate axle (2) on the chassis of the vehicle. A first Bowden cable (8) and a second Bowden cable (11) are guided parallel to each other on the end of the guiding strip. The core (9) of the first Bowden cable is connected to the guiding strip and core (10) of the second Bowden cable is connected to a sliding piece. The sleeve of the first Bowden cable is supported on the sliding piece and the sleeve of the second Bowden cable is supported on the guiding strip. Preferred Features: The cores of the Bowden cables form a closed loop. The guiding strip is a guiding cylinder (5) and the sliding piece is a piston (6) which slides into the cylinder.
